Which units qualify
A unit is listed when the maker’s own page says no subscription is required or none is charged. A page that merely does not mention one does not qualify; those units are in the subscriptions guide as “not stated”.
| Model | What the maker states | Condition to know |
|---|---|---|
| FlightScope Mevo Gen2 | “completely free with no subscription required” | Spin: stickers or Titleist RCT balls |
| FlightScope Mevo+ | “data parameters will always be available free of charge without a subscription fee” | Pro Package and Badger AI are paid |
| Square Golf Home Edition | “no-subscription fee & 1,000 free credits” | Spin: dedicated marking ball |
| Square Golf Omni Edition | “no-subscription fee & 1,000 free credits” | Spin: marker-free dimple tracking |
| Foresight GC3 (Ball Enabled bundle) | “no subscription is required to access your data or use FSX software” (medium) | Club data is an upgrade; GC3S is subscription-based |
| Voice Caddie SC4 Pro | None stated for the device | E6 Connect courses carry an “optional subscription” |
What the spec sheets say about the trade-offs
- Spin hardware. The free-data FlightScope units name stickers, dots or RCT balls for accurate spin; Square Golf Home names a marking ball; Square Golf Omni states marker-free dimple tracking.
- Paid add-ons. FlightScope’s Pro Package adds “over 20 additional data parameters, including the complete D-Plane dataset” and is paid. Foresight sells club data on the GC3 as an upgrade.
- Room figures. Square Golf states no room size in readable text. FlightScope gives sensor and ball-flight distances: see the room size guide.
- Battery. Mevo Gen2 up to 6 h, Mevo+ up to 3 h (1.5 h for simulator play), Square Home 8 h and Omni 6 h on one charge.
